We traded in the Land of the Vikings for the Beach!

After living in Minnesota for 3 years and having Lexi, we decided it was time to get back to the East Coast to be near friends and family. We have moved to Virginia Beach and are starting a new chapter on our blog.

Lexi - 1 Year Old

Lexi turned a year old on St. Patrick's Day. She wants to walk desperately but isn't quite there just yet. She is talking jibberish, but no words we recognize yet. She can snap her fingers which she does when she wants to be picked up or see something she can't reach. She wants to feed herself, but can't quite do it alone yet (see the picture above). We had her birthday party a few weekends ago and she wasn't interested in eating the cake at all! She's never had much sweet stuff, so we thought the cake wouldn't go over too well. I put a few pictures of her and the party above.

Lexi - Almost a Year Old!

Lexi keeps growing and continues to amaze (and amuse) us with how much she knows and learns. She loves to hear Jason play the guitar (and play it herself too!). She loves paper and if she gets a hold of the tissues, you can see from the picture above what happens. Lexi is now eating solid food and has her two bottom teeth with more on the way. She is crawling and pulling up on everything. She is much more vocal and we're both anxiously awaiting what her first word is going to be. She is 11 months old and it's hard to believe she's almost a toddler.

Lexi - 8 months old

Lexi just turned 8 moths old on 11/17.  She's very petite and long, but gaining weight.  We found out she was lactose intolerant so that has contributed to her not gaining as much weight.  She can eat and with the formula change to lactose-free, we have already seen her pack on some pounds!

Lexi's Trip to the Mountains

We took Lexi to the mountains outside Charlottesville for a long weekend.  She went hiking, walking in the jogging stroller and to dinner at some fine restaurants.  Lexi entertained herself at dinner by watching Baby Einstein videos on the portable DVD player.  She was just fascinated by having her own little "TV" to watch.

Lexi's First Halloween

Lexi and daddy were both MN Vikings fans for Halloween.  Lexi fell asleep before most of the festivities started, but we were able to get this quick photo.

Lexi

Lexi loves sitting on Jason's lap and grabbing his hair.  He gets her laughing every time.  She is doing well in the high chair eating baby food and we are soon going to move to Stage 2 food with more variety.

Lexi Baptism

We just had Lexi baptized and she is getting so big.  She is working on sitting up and continues to do well eating her baby food aka "big girl" food as we call it.  She is starting to say sounds and is very interested in learning what is around her, in addition to touching and feeling things.

Lexi "Talking"

Lexi keeps us entertained by "talking."  She likes to make a lot of noises and our joke is that she is loud like daddy!

Lexi Eating Baby Food

Lexi started eating baby food and rice cereal when she was 4.5 months old.  This is one of our first time eating "big girl" food.  She loves to make a mess and talk while she's eating.

Lexi in the Bumbo Chair

Lexi likes sitting in her Bumbo chair.  It helps her learn to sit up and we tell her she is a "big girl" when she sits in it!

Lexi - Move Day in VA

We got moved at the end of May to our new place in Virginia Beach.  We are near Sandbridge Beach and have a pool in the backyard as well.

Lexi Sitting Up

Lexi is practicing her sitting up.  Her best friend - our cat Gabby - is sleeping next to her.

Happy Easter

For Lexi's first Easter, Uncle Trey and Aunt Leanne gave her a Peter Rabbit stuffed animal and book.  Here is Lexi's Easter picture with Peter Rabbit.

Lexi - 3 weeks old

Lexi continues to get bigger every day.  She can hold her head up, roll on her side and has a strong grip when she grabs your finger.  We read to her and practice doing ABCs, numbers and spelling.  Jason and I are getting more into a routine and learning as we go. Here are a few recent pictures - Lexi's first dress, "tummy time" on  a quilt made by Leanne's mom and Lexi sleeping.
