We traded in the Land of the Vikings for the Beach!

After living in Minnesota for 3 years and having Lexi, we decided it was time to get back to the East Coast to be near friends and family. We have moved to Virginia Beach and are starting a new chapter on our blog.

Happy New Year!

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and that the New Year brings you and your families the best.  We're a little late in getting our holiday/New Year wishes out this year because we've had a lot going on.

In July, we found out that Heather was pregnant and we are expecting a little girl on March 25. I know this is probably shocking to most of you, but we are extremely happy and consider this a blessing. The second piece of good news came late in the year.  We found out that Jason's company is going to transfer him to a division in the Tidewater Virginia area sometime after our little one arrives.  The timing will be up to us and contingent upon us selling our house in Minnesota and  buying a new house in Virginia.  We hope to be settled by June at the latest.

The rest of our 2008 will probably pale in comparison to the news above, but we'll give you some highlights of what we've been up to.  In February, we celebrated our 16th anniversary.  I know it's hard to believe as time goes by so quickly.  In March, Jason turned 41 with a low-key birthday celebration and in May we had a busy month.  Heather turned 38 and we went to Virginia for Heather's sister-in-law, Leanne's, graduation from pharmacy school.  In late May, we went on vacation for a wonderful week in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Leanne got a great job in Grand Rapids, Michigan and she and Trey moved shortly after graduation.  We spent some time with our good friend Tony and his girlfriend Anna going out on their boat and enjoying some in-promptu get-togethers.  Jason's friend Ken and his daughter Diamond came to visit for a long weekend and we did the usual - shopping, theme parks and more.  In August, we went back to Virginia for Jason's Lambda Chi Alpha reunion and had a great time catching up with a lot of fraternity brothers and their families.  Jason took his annual fishing trip with his brothers and they had so much fun, they decided to go again in December.  Jason also got season tickets to the Vikings football games again and truly enjoyed being a great fan!

In late November, Heather decided to leave her job based on the direction of her project and to prepare to be a mother. Ironically, Heather got pregnancy-related carpal tunnel in her hands right after she quit her job!  It has made writing, typing and using her hands very difficult, but we're thankful that's the worst and only side effect she's had from the pregnancy. We spent Thanksgiving in Scottsdale, Arizona with some great friends from work and enjoyed the warm weather and scenery.  It reminded us of Boise, Idaho which we still miss terribly.

In December, Heather went home for a baby shower and we prepared to have family come for the holidays.  Jason's mother and brother joined us for what was a colder than usual December - but we all reminded ourselves that it was the last Minnesota winter we'd have to face!  As we rung in the New Year, we looked back on a great year and looked forward to an even better year to come.  We'll keep you all posted on the baby news and our upcoming move plans.  Now that we will be closer, we hope to catch up with everyone and get to see you all more often. You're always in our thoughts and prayers and we thank you for all your cards, letters and emails keeping us posted on how you're doing.

We look forward to a wonderful 2009 and to sharing it, our new baby girl and our new home with you all!

Jason & Heather
